Default Wideband gauge from Enjuku in FL

I found these guys out of Florida. They are selling the AEM UEGO for $199.80 including shipping to Canada. This is the best price I have seen so far especially considering they cover the shipping to Canada. I think it is a pretty good unit overall from what I have read, has anyone here ever dealt with them before?

One of my problems with some of these cheaper widebands was they don't have the capability to log AFR *and* RPM. IMO logging both is required to do proper tuning. Most would allow you to add RPM logging as a module with a bunch more $$$. Now, if you are getting a sharktuner, you can use that for all your logging needs, but if not I would recommend you go with the cheapest setup that logs both AFR and RPM.

Dan the uego allows this and much more. I've been running one for 2 years. It is not one of the "cheaper ones" as many, many tuners use it for it's price and capability/reliability.

Keep in mind all wide band controllers are not created equally. Here is a repost of a comparison test run a while backfrom fordmuscle.com.

However, the AEM you are looking at seemed to test pretty well.

I didn't mean to say the UEGO was cheap as in not good quality. However, when I did my research on all the wideband controllers, the UEGO with AFR and RPM logging cost a good deal more than TechEdge. If I remember correctly, the base controller/gauge/sensor did not come with RPM logging, you had to buy an extra module for it which pushed the price up considerably.

FYI, the absolute cheapest was JAW http://www.14point7.com/Widebands/JA.../JAW_1_041.htm. However, the gauge display was too raw for my tastes.

I wonder why none of the TechEdge units were in that test...

I had the Zeitronix in my 951 and it seemed to work just great. After about 2 years I had to replace the bosch sensor. The data logging was very useful when tuning with a MAF voltage massager. My only complaint is that the wires in the harness provided with it are too small and easy pulled out of or broken at the connector. The innovative seems to be the most popular.

How do you hook up one of these to monitor RPM's? I know the AEM needs an additional module, do you just tie into the LH or EZF rpm signal wire?

The Zeitronix and the MAF tuner I had both could hear the noise from the plugs in the 12V source, you just told it how many cylinders you have. The eBoost boost controller I wanted also used ignition noise to sense rpm.

I just used one of the pins on my diagnostic socket. Since yours doesn't have one of those, I think pulling from the LH/EZF should work.

FWIW RE: the JAWs, we have one in our local club that consistant reads 0.06 leaner than true when compared against a calibrated wideband on a dyno. I suppose its good to err on the side of caution (i.e. the car is actually running 0.06 richer than the guage shows).

I realize this is purely anecdotal - being based on only one unit.

As far as TechEdge, I wish they had run that in the comparison. I run an old TE version 1.5 in my track car.
