holes in console
Chuck, why not patch the holes from the phone? There are guys out there that can fill those holes and put the grain to match the existing console and then color match the classic gray..... I did it on the black 95 GTS that I had and you'd never know there were holes there...... Just a thought?

You can buy a patch kit at most any auto parts store. It comes with everything you'll need to patch the hole and colorant to match your interior. It even comes with a small iron and some textured overlays to match the grain in the console. It worked pretty good however, a professional would be able to match everything better. The guys that referb cars for dealers would be a good person to fix holes from phone mounts...

The console is held with two screws or bolts on the top, which you access through the center vent. Between console and dash go two spacer pieces that often fall out/off when the console is removed.
Try replacing those with a spacer piece as wide as the contact area between console and dash, and screw things back together. It will likely do the trick.

Nicole,
Installed those 2 spacers and the right side (by temp sensor) sticks out just a little bit. (barely)
I can flush it up by pressing on it a little. If I get the screw in, press it flush and tighten the screw, HOPEFULLY I'll be good to go.
Steve,
I was going to use these guys until I decided to put the current center console in that I got from Roger.

The Leather shop that does all the repairs for Boardwalk Porsche here in North Dallas area use Gold Team to fix all their vinyl and plastic jobs. I will use them to fix a few snafu's in my pod.
You can probably find someone similar to do your repairs locally.

Hi Chuck, didn't know there were spacers that go between top of console and the dash. Can you describe them, any suggestions on what might be a good substitute in case the originals were lost?

Sean,
Will do. Just have not uploaded pics out of camera yet. Took me about 2 hrs worth of work on fabbing it up, then painted, let dry overnight. I'll post the process in a separate thread once I finish. Center console is in the car now, just need to get the screw in, and tweak so it all fits good before I finish installing gear (hvac, stereo, etc) into it.
Tom,
The spacers are 2 little round black sleeves. I'd say they are about 5mm thick and they sit on top of the center console above the 2 bolts that shoot straight up right behind your center air vent. I forgot to put them in the first time and when you snug them up, the console sits at a wrong angle against your dash.
I taped them to the top of the console and punched holes in them to install as there is no way to hold them in place w your hand when you install. Ask roger for the part #.
