Seemed that way from the other threads; paint was an issue.

Went to take a look today. Got to Montgomery and couldn't find the place - I had remembered a classic car place there. Montgomery is a 1 stoplight town - I thought I was losing it. Went into an O'Reilleys and asked - they told me the shop had moved to Conroe.
Found the classic car store in Conroe, but no sign of the 928. I talked to the owner - it had been part of his inventory but he recently split from his partner who retained that car and was just selling over the internet - no storefront. He said that it was a "nice looking" car but that the front suspension was pretty messed up - he said it had been a front-end hit. He said that a Porsche "specialist" had looked at it and said that it would cost a substantial amount to fix the car.
Now there is no way to confirm this is the actual car in the ebay ad, but Montgomery (and Conroe) aren't that big. If I have some time later in the week, I'll try and contact the seller directly and see if I can take a look.

That all makes sense now. Seems that some others had seen it and heard it was in a front-end crash and that the respray was no good.

Thanks for taking the time. Some sucker is going to end up with it unfortunately...
