I have sent an e-mail to Tim Murphy asking if I can purchase his custom EZF chip. From previous posts I read it retards the timing along the boost curve up to 10 deg at max boost. If I can get one of those and install a wideband gauge I should be good to go on my next test run. If the timing properly adjusted I can then use the wideband to tune the fuel properly.

Suggest you also ask Tim for a LH2.2 chip, preset for youjr 30# injectors, then there's a chance you will get a good idle will stock fuel pressure.

Hi Ted, I received your email and will be glad to help you out.

The 24lb injectors "should" be enough to fuel the car to 8psi with the 8:1 FMU. You really need to get a wide band o2 on the car to be sure. I have tested the 85-86 cars with this configuration and know it to work. I do install an EZF chip that progressivly takes out about 10 degrees of advance above 3500 RPM.

The 30lb injectors might also work with the stock LH chip and the NB o2 in closed loop. The 8:1 FMU will be a little too agressive but you will still need to use one. I have not tuned an LH chip for 85-86 cars with 30lb injectors so I would be a little leary of giving you a LH chip set for 30lb injectors. I cannot be sure how the car would fuel under boost.

Since you asked so nice, I will send you an EZF chip for the cost of the chip and shipping.

Should I send to the address in your email?

Tim thank-you, you're the man! Yes please send it to that address and my Paypal is the same as the one in my e-mail. This is definitely going to help that is for sure!

Once I have your chip in and the wideband I will take the fuel tuning from there. I have the complete tuning kit for the Vortech, 7-1, 6-1 etc. so if I go to the 30 lb injectors I have the ability to lower the fuel pressure under boost.

Does anyone have a link for a good wide band gauge kit and a decent price? I have checked out Ebay but you never know who to trust

The products by Innovate Motorsports are used by many and offer a lot of options to add datalogging down the road.

That or the innovate stuff. The 2J1 is cheaper (or maybe not because of the crap exchange rate these days) and you can couple it with a nice display gauge too.

I just shopped the digital innovate A/R setup. Best price was from autoplex, out of Texas at $217. delivered. Had the unit in AZ in three days.

I've used the Innovate products so far. From what I've read and heard from others, the only other brand I'd consider buying at this point would be the TechEdge.

As Hacker mentioned, the Innovate products offer a lot in terms of future expansion if you ever want it. I've got 15 channels of measurement and logging with the Innovate stuff I have now, and then additional calculated channels can be created based on the measured data. I think that Todd's at 13 channel capability with his Innovate stuff, with 8 of those being individual cylinder air/fuel ratios.

If you don't mind driving an hour up the highway (might want to wait 'til snow stops) these guys
have a great setup. http://www.rspmotorsports.com/index.html

Default Update: Run 2

Added: X pipe no cats, WR5DC plugs and AEM Wideband and filled it with Ultra 94. With the wire jumpered on the EZF no audible detonation. Full throttle AFR starts at 13:1 at the onset of boost and drops to 11:1 at full boost so I am getting enough fuel. When I get Tim's chip it will give me some insurance in the warmer weather. Boost is still at 8 psi even with the X pipe added.

Wholly crap does it ever go!

All this chitter-chatter about SC's. I'm getting a "stiffy" thinking about putiing one on. BUT, it will have to wait till next winter. Got a furnace and AC to relace this year, oh ya, and a garage to build too.

So anyways, If and when I do the SC thingy, How do you think MY car(90 GT w/5 speed) will react? What kind of Hp increase would I be looking at? Handling?

Maybe on a nice day I'll take a drive out to Kitchener for a viewing?????
