Default Screws Stripped

The Hex Screws to the Rear Seats seem to have come in contact with some good moisture, and are very corroded. I cannot remove them via a Hex Key, because the center is destroyed and the key will not fit.

I tried all sorts of wrenches, and pliars, all the sort- but the damn things will not come out!

Any other solutions?

Lot's of Kroil or PB blaster, tap with a hammer, Dremel a slot and try a screw driver with vise grips. Also, might try a litte heat.

I had to drill out the head on my front seat mount and was able to remove the bolt using the remaining stub.

A big chisel and a heavy hammer. Nail that bugger with the chisel at a slight angle in the correct direction to loosen the bolt. If you can get a chisel on it and have enough room to take a healthy swing it will loosen. I have never had this method fail if there was enough room.

Getting those out will be tricky due to the lack of space, the hammer and chisel will likely have the most success.

Hammer the right size torx bit in there and it should have enough bite to come out.

I would just drill out the head. you start wack'in the chizel, you might end up bending something on the seat rails, but I guess if you are careful and its sharp , it might just come right out. once you get the seat out, the remainder will just unscrew with a vice grip.

I dont know what it is about seat bolts, but its not uncommon that they are way tighter than they need to be. Two of us here with Miata needed to remove seats (to ease installation of a roll bar) found that it took all the strength we could muster, with absolutely optimum access and a long socket bar to crack the bolts loose - like a two foot extension shaft, standing on the ground out of the car and leaning into the bar as hard as we could before they let go with a bang.
In the 928, with the seat forward and at max height, I found the rear bolts not hard to loosen with only a 4" lever on an allen key stub.
