Feeler thread for 2 piece hat and SLOTTED rotors for GTS brakes??

yes i did use their adapters. got them from a Renn-lister, and got the rotors and calipers. fits great. on the rears, i had to use washers to space them back 2-3 mm so they did not hit the rotor.

For handeling purposes, 1 pound of unsprung weight is equal to 13 pounds of sprung weight. So reducing the unsprung weight is certainly worth the effort. The cost however is your decision.
Tom in Austin has the Koklen hats with bolt on rotors on his GTS, looks great and works fine. I have heard (unconfirmed) that they are worth 2 pounds per side.

Worth it how? I have, and many top racers have swapped 5 lbs a corner of unsprung weight and not noticed any improvment in laptime. Now, if that 5lbs was really worth 5x13=65lbs x 2 or 130lbs of sprung weight , it would result in over 1-2 seconds a lap in time and ALL of it would be in better handling, which is utter BS. Its "unconfirmed" as the tooth fairy is unconfirmed.
Ive put in passengers and noticed major handling isssues as well as acceleration differences. I noticed NOTHING with 5lbs a corner weight changes.
Again, unsprung weight is a funny thing. It depnds on so many factors. mainly the track and its surface.

Ok, I'd bet that those rotors in post #6 are not drilled through but those 'holes' are cast indentations. Secondly the slotting is one direction.
The guys with the X drilled rotors are missing the point of this thread. I / We don't want X drilled rotors. They crack up very quickly and even though their relatively cheap, if they only last 1-2 meetings then they're damned expensive. They do work to rid the build up of gas between pad and rotor though, so the theory holds. Mark, those LR ones in post #12
do have a hat that will work with a GTS setup, but they don't have a slotted rotor. So you're happy with the stock weight flat GTS rotor? Well here you go, best of both worlds for you. Don't say we don't help out from the 951 boards.

Surely you guys are familiar with this vendor?

I do like the idea of a 2 piece setup and moreso the floating type. Here's a place that will do it. $1195 for the front hats and slotted rotors for GTS sized setup and $1350 for full floating front pair.

Seems I've found somewhere else that has done it already and these guys are supposed to cater for pro NASCAR & Speedway cars. I am still looking into this.
