I guess it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish: a show of "force" of 928's at a GTG with 200-250 other cars seems to me like we're trying to impress others. That's not why I come to the GTGs. I come to have a leisurely breakfast and hash out and discuss issues and problems with my and others' cars, while still allowing time in the day to act on those issues and problems.
Now I had a good time at the cars and coffee, but i don't want to do that each and every month. My $.02.

Agreed, I enjoy that part as well, but in this case the idea would be to have a leisurely lunch and discuss our cars after enjoying all the other nice cars at Cars and Coffee. Also, as much as I enjoy our casual breakfasts, ideally after spending a nice morning drinking 3 cups of coffee and couple glasses of water, one should not go to a parking lot for a couple of hours.

I've been to Texas a few times...one of the interesting things I discovered is that everything is "just a couple hours down the road." This seems to be the "universal" distance measurement in all of Texas by everyone. Of course, you are still driving 6 hours later...and if you stop and ask how much farther it is to where you are going..."it's just a couple hours down the road."

I came back wondering how far a light year was to Texans....probably just a couple of hours across the cosmos.

What's funny is outside of the state we get the opposite thing. I live in Dallas, but had to go to Houston for a week for business. So I was telling a coworker about having to catch a plane.

He said "Why do you need to catch a plane, isn't Houston in Texas?" I was like "Yeah, but it's about a 6 hour drive!" It's not like the Northeast where you miss an exit and end up in a different state.

I don't know why you guys are worried about drinking too much coffee - yall just pee behind a tree or a bush anyway (depending on the size of it, of course). You always have to watch where you step at Tech Sessions >> that's why Texans Wear Boots!

i luved luved luved the car show, but i'm also for changing it up here and there. Next month's car show is good for me though.

I think we need to do a GTG In Waco to do a Course and maybe meet up with some Austinites. P.S. Waco has a "Winery", or was it "Wine-o's", I can't remember.

1) I couldn't find a tree in the Classic BMW parking lot and

2) I was afraid I might freeze something if I tried that.....

They were nice enough to provide golf cart to give rides over to the showroom/restroom.

I did notice the sales guys looking at what car we drove up in. Not a bad way to pre-qualify some buyers if you think about it.

I wouldn't mind setting up a few Friday or Saturday evening events when the weather gets a bit warmer. It would be fun to do a night out in one of the smaller downtown areas... Addison, McKinney, Denton, etc... I enjoy a nice wine and/or coffee bar from time to time.

FYI, this would be an example of a marginal size bush to pee behind. Expecially when an entire group of strangers is watching you from their horses in Progresso, Mexico.....

Mike, that looks kinda similar to the New Mexico desert I got stuck in, and only had 4 McDonalds napkins and a serious butt cramping issue. 40 degrees, 40 mph winds and 40 miles to the next town sucked.

The whole tour group really got a kick out of this, and then they really had a laugh at my expense when I jumped back on my horse and it took off like I was the lone ranger. And I was pretty much drunk from the all inclusive beverages....hence the need to stop right then and there to pee. I told the tour guide that I was an experienced rider, but I had never been on a horse in my life. Here's some of the group watching me. Not really, but you get the idea.

V -
Forgot ALL ABOUT THAT!!!! To the right of KV in the pic was a buttload of workers at a new hotel building project and a crowd quickly gathered. I was pretty drunk myself and almost fell off my horse laughing at mike when his horse did a couple of 360's and took off at lightening speed up a hill and down the path...while the horse stable owner was cussing en espanol calling us a bunch of "borrachos".

the below pic I entitled "Who needs a tree?"

Q. Does Pee freeze instantly when it hits a frozen pond?
