Based on post #138, it might be a wake.

The transport driver I used was the same way. Careful and competent. I was there when he drove the car up the ramp, gently scraping the spoiler and not bashing it. I was NOT there when the car was moved around, or when it finally came off (I arrived just after). The guy seemed very competent, the car looked fine, so I wasn't concerned at all.
It wasn't until I went to jack the car up later to work on it that I saw the damage.
Anyway a little work with a welder and some 3M undercoat and it's good as new.

James,

Peerhaps a good idea to have some local's as witnesses! Seldom do domestic acts of abuse take place in front of others

I would love to be there to see it, but I have some domestic abuse issues of my own to deal with right now...
Didn't someone mention that the November DFWGTG was the "one" to attend?

Jim, et. al.

It has arrived! Safe and sound in the same condition as it left CA it would seem.

Erik,

Nov DFW GTG is the 3rd Coast event in Marble Falls, TX just west of Austin.

Awesome! Been watching this thread with great interest. In that first pic, James, it looks like the driver laid some rubber backing it off the truck - LOL

LOL! Didn't notice that...sure does though... He might have I was not present upon arrival. First I saw it was in my friends garage, but he didn't say anything about squealing tires!

Hey James, I was just looking at the pic you posted in the random picture thread, and it looks like you don't even own a green 928! What's with that?

At least you have a red one, now.

Seriously though, I'd love to check out your collection this November at the 3rd Coast, assuming I can get away from school for enough time.

meybee even a photo shoot for 2011 with some of those high heels!

Erik, you are CORRECT! I would LOVE a green 928...hell I would love a couple of them! I REALLY, REALLY wanted to buy Kermit from Chuck, but didn't have a job pretty much the whole time it was on the market actively. Was hoping Chuck would just hold on to it and wait for me but WHO KNOWS when (or IF) I will have another (REAL...as in REALLY decent paying) job! Heck maybe the 100% commission gig I am doing now will really take off, but I can't buy a car like Kermit on hope like that!

I would also LOVE to get a '95 (or even a '93...but prefer a '95 to do it right) GTS in black and then repaint and reinterior the thing to be a sort of tribute to the last US GTS... Of course the green's like your car are VERY NICE too and I certainly wouldn't mind having an '83 or '86 in Oak or Aventura (however that is spelled) green! Not a fan of Amazon green though I have to say. Oh, a SIGNAL GREEN 928 would be AWESOME TOO...probably repaint my race car to that color eventually...that way I can get one and it won't cost me a fortune! LOL!

Let the save begin... I have gone over the car pretty well interior and exterior so I know what I am up against. Really not to bad...(and NONE of this stuff HAS TO BE DONE!)

NEEDS:
Body -
front bumper cover painted (hints on removal appreciated)
rear bumper cover painted (same hints as above)
hood painted
rear qtr panels will need to have some dent work repaired and then probably be able to blend the paint so no need to pull the qtr glass I hope.
Rear bumper shocks
Wheels are pretty crappy
Front spoiler (have it! soon to be installed, but maybe wait till we paint the nose is best???)

Interior -
Install of the trim on the front of the parcel shelf under the steering wheel
drivers seat bolster repaired in some way (colorglo or replace the skin)
drivers seat back releases
hatch release (any thoughts on getting that passenger side screw in?! I can't get the plate it screws in to high enough for the screw to bite)
black carpeted tool tray (on its way)
decent shift lever (will have one soon...along with center arm rest and steering wheel actually...will take from S4 when Paul C gets me the stuff he has...No rush Paul, btw...these are can do, not have to do things)
Drivers side door sill
Passenger seat won't go back...only forward
CRAPPY radio!

Engine/mechanicals -
Dr. Bob REALLY took care of most all of this...the car is very nice to drive...not super strong but we can work on that
Plug wires (and all those other ignition goodies would not hurt)
There is a surge under full throttle as the revs climb
Better tires

As it stands I could probably sell the drive train and interior for more than I have in the car, but it really has GREAT potential, so this is a car REALLY worth saving I think!

Pics coming!

A couple more shots

The car actually drives quite well and feels very tight. I don't think we have any suspension issues to deal with at all. I have not tried the cruise control yet. The brakes are quite strong... All in all, very little to complain about here!

Hmmm.... May be tough trying the cruise control, since it didn't appear to have that option. Thee are some options that seem to show up on all US cars that may not be on ROW cars. CC is on that list, and I'm sure there are others. I didn't notice the missing CC until I looked hard at the compound switch assy on the column. That assy may be on your wants list, so the turn signal will cancel.

Pretty substantial car for the money, don't you think?

Dr. Bob...I didn't even notice! That is sad isn't it?! I guess I just expected it because EVERY 928 I have ever seen has CC in it! You are correct though, in the ROW cars you have a lot more options because the base car is much more stripped down vs. the US cars.

Land, VERY substantial car for the $$$$! That is why I bought it!
