Default 1984 WEIRD driving problem

Well I tested the Grey 84 that was bent ton the road today. Found two things one MINOR and one head scratcher
Minor, Engine has a slight miss, probably plugs since I have not put the new ones in.
MAJOR Step on the gas car walks (rear end) Right, Lift off and car walks (rear end) left.
In a normal rear that would be an axle broke on the right side. But the half shafts and ALL CV joints are either NEW or almost new.
Could the alignment shop have NOT tightened something?
This is new to me.
Again 1984 928s.
Thanks guys and girls.

Bad alignment, or worn rubber bushings in the rear.

I can almost guarantee that's your rear tire pressures being different. Easy fix!

One of the rear shock bolts is loose, or the spherical washer on the bolt is missing or in the wrong place. BTDT

for the rear moving sidways there are 2 locating bolts to check for each lower control arm
This is after the fact that the shock pins are tight and not missing any parts. The front location and the rear cross member.
the rear control arm to Xmem bolt gets tightened to 140ft/lb, if its loose then it will cause this sideways movement.
Follow Wallys advice first

OK, The shocks on this car, 1984, have (3) on top and then the Bottom slips over the lower mount point.
Are you talking about the (2) eccentrics on the mount points of the lower control arm? If so I will bet that they did not get them tight enough.
I have the car till Monday so I will get under there and check those points.
Thank you

No, he's referring to the two bottom nuts on one side of the car. .... Suggesting you did not torque the pivot pin bolts to WSM spec. or improperly assembled conical washers. Bottom shock mount could also be assembled backwards.

Wally is referring to the lower link pins these pass through the bottom of each shock mount, if all of the washers are not installed correctly then even though the nuts on the ends of the pins are tight the wheel hub can move front to back.
I was referring to the bolts that connect the lower control arms to the chassis there are 2 of them per side usually the rear bolt isnt tightened enough and then the lower control arm can then move sidways this will eventually damage the lower Xmember

Also, the driving characteristics that you've describe are an exaggeration of the Weissach rear suspension compensation, which was designed to complement front steering during acceleration and deceleration.

Yes, the pivot pin is installed with two nuts, two large washers, and two conical washers. All sandwiched between the hub and shock absorber.

I can't tell by the photo, is that the sleeve from the shock absorber still installed on the bent pivot pin? The sleeve looks to be centered on the pin, so it looks to be part of the hub. I could be mistaken, but my 1990 S4's hub has no such sleeve. If that's the case, you will need a new hub.

Can you provide a closeup?
