I am with a Ryco related company (Hydraulic fittings), split off from the filter company a long time ago, but still connected. My checks of the filter web site only show fuel filters listed for 928s. As usual their data is all wrong - 4.5l listed 83-91, and 5.0l same dates. I will see if I can contact somebody there and straighten them out. They are OEMs for filters for several manufacturers here in Oz.

I wholeheartedly agree. When I got my 82, the first thing I did was change the fluids .... $37.00 for an oil filter from the Porsche dealership thieves ... the first and last time I've dealt with anyone here. Support those who support us.

That is, I think I paid over $20 each for the Mann filters at Nappa.

You are right I started at the oil filter page and then searched, when I saw Z452 come up, I did not see it was under the fuel column. Older eyes. Too bad according to that page their filters have great construction and the largest filter media by area.

Purolator part number & packaging / Mann filter inside.
They are overnight delivery from Advance Auto.
Still a good option. Bought a couple last week, though they were up to $9 each.

Everything else for 928, 944, 951 and some stuff for MB --- our suppliers.

Purulator, Mann and Mahle are OE suppliers to Porsche.
I think Purolator had the 928 contract first (?)

For the past couple oil changes Ive run a 944 oil filter due to local availability. Anyone else ever done this? I know its incorrect and only about 2/3rds the size of a 928 filter but they do screw right on.

same as a standard 2 liter VW filter, same mating surface, just a bit shorter. will do in a pinch.
