1987 Porsche 928 S4 No Spark
My shark sat for about one month with the battery unhooked while I changed the time belt, water pump and all related part. Rotors and caps are new. I have power to the coils on +. The fuel pump relay will not activate but I can jump it with a jumper wire and it works. Just not spark on the wires. I have a viper 160vx remote start with keyless entry. Could it be a problem or is it the Crank Pos. sensor? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No needle movement. Whats funny is that the car ran great before repairs. The Crank sensor is 23 yrs old. Do you think that could just go bad sitting?

I have a new Crank sensor ordered. I will check relays. You know whats funny is that when you crank the car the doors lock and unlock. I don't understand this. It has never happened before. I hope my viper remote start is not a problem. It is also keyless entry.

replace the fuel lines if you have not already done this
I vote for the alarm causing problems

I have a Viper alarm that causes the doors to lock too occasionally. Aftermarket alarms are crap IMHO. Mine has been sitting for a month too and I'm sure it's going to do the same thing as yours.

I talked to Best Buy about my Viper system They said that nothing in the Viper system will stop the car from starting. They did say that the factory defaults came back since the battery was disconnected so long. They would have to reprogram the system after I go the car running. So @ this point I'm hoping it is just the crank position sensor. They said that the viper thinks the car is running so it tries to lock the door. Thanks again for everyones help. God Bless.

Turned out to be the crank position sensor. Now I have a miss in the engine. Could it be I fouled out the plugs with all of the attempts to start it?

I was just going to post that it's the blue/white wire on W23 on the cel - unplug it to isolate possible interior shorts from the cpu's - but I guess it's irrelavent.
