Dan--

Got pics of the baby bro's place in south San Jose, with a nice layer of rock-salt-size hail coating the gound and roof.

The Tuesday mini-tornado in Sunset Beach OC missed my Surfside rental by a few blocks. Army COE and OC Public Works have been building sand berms for wave protection. I built that house four feet above the heights of my neighbors' places there, mostly to keep the sand from tracking/blowing inside; It's been enough to keep the high-high-plus tides out so far. Folks' house a few miles inland there had standing water six feet above the road height, just a couple feet short of first-floor flood stage for them. Here on the hill in Glendale, flooding isn't an issue but we are watching for stuff sloughing off onto the public road down below us.

Still too wet to go riding today.

You know it's winter here when the temps don't quite make it to 60ºF in the heat of the afternoon.
