Looking good there Ole..................especially that fine belt and fuel pressure guage.
Remeber cam timing 101 when the cam timing gear marks are forward (as in the normal direction of rotation) or clockwise, in the case of the 928, the cam is advanced of the crank with the engine at TDC #1. The opposite is true when the marks are behind, the cams are then retarded.
If your dealing with a 1/4 to a 1/2 a tooth off at TDC I'd set the drivers side cam gear to the exact spot and then set the passenger side cam advanced. All will make sense when the belt is run in and you do further refinement with Kens cam timing tool.

You missed a step! The terminal widget goes inside the center cover, and screws through the dipstick mounting hole. The stock sensor wire which goes through the rubber grommet plugs into it. The brown wire goes from the dipstick mount to the stock 8mm bolt which goes through the cover.
You could just bolt the widget any old place out side of the cover, now, but it's supposed to go inside.

Three Wheelin'
As Ken says (and I did). You can take of the passenger side cover off and pop that screw in. Here's a pic to help you out:

after turning over for a few seconds, the belt is about 4.5 mm from the front cam gears and the tensiner is at 8mm. From the instructions, it is about the max. Should I be concerned?

Are you turning the engine with the starter?
If so and you've triple checked the timing and spin the engine many times with the starter then re. check.
Its good to be so observant but the system has to 'settle' after running up to temp and back.......IMHO

Being over cautious comes from reading to much on Rennlist.
Cams at about 4.5 mm
Tensioner 7mm
Timing is right on the marks, so time to put it back together.

7mm...measured from the front, facing the engine, at the center of the piston? Or from the side (at the angle of the pic above)?
The belt should track about 3mm from the front, once it's up and running. (Check through the breather holes to verify.)

All is back together and runnung perfectly. The new belt is tracking right where it should with Kens Porkentensioner. Thanks for all the advice guys.
Now I have to wait a month or two for winter to pass before I can get it out of the garage and on the road.
