I've interchanged alloy with aluminum on MB V8's with no problems. Later CIS-E FD's had electronics bolted to the side for that make them incompatible.

Advantages using the alloy block?
MB used fuel distributors to 1991 in their cars with CIS and CIS-E. The only ones that are suitable for an early 928 are ones to 1985 from a 3.8 or 5.0 v8 for alloy, or 3.5, 4.5 and 6.9 for cast iron.

Well, now I know how to rebuild one properly, time well spent for my education. I will be on the lookout for a spare, so I can do it again.
Now the adjustable one......don't think I'll go there....

If I fit that to my 93 GTS do you think I will get an increase in power that is worth the price tag?? 8>)

No. And there's an extra fee at the pump for CIS. Only important if you drive the car though.
But you knew that already.
I think the supply of knowledgable CIS techs is dwindling fast. Kind of like the real factory-trained 928 techs at dealerships, the real ones are retiring, or passing on.
