personally I run ONLY amsoil in my 928's.....the "dominator" (their racing oil) 15-50...but my only 928 is a dedicated race car...but I did run it in my street 88 S4 too...

However if you will be driving primarily on the street...Mobil 1 15-50 is fine....thats what I used before I switched to amsoil..... since the benefit of the "racing" oil is more apparent under racing conditions...

More important than the oil you run is how often you change it....I did mine once a year (4-5k miles) which probably was overkill...

I've never been thrilled about thin oils, 20-50 is as thin as I'll consider in my climate -- so Greg, I am another of the few. I switched to the Torco TR-1 back in Oct and was really impressed at the way it seemed to make the car run and pull more smoothly. Placebo effect perhaps, but I have no complaints whatsoever.
