Nevada Silver State Classic - Anyone?
http://www.sscc.us/
Caught this on Gears this morning - Nevada's Silver State Classic...looks like a lot of fun. Anyone ever taken their 928 out for this?
Costs look to be about $680 for entry into the 90-mile road race (no speed limits, gapped starts off the line)...or about $200 for multiple, 1-mile max acceleration runs.

Mike you are not new here...you should have seen a great many posts here about "Open Road Racing" which is what the Silver State Classic is... there have been several reference to that specific event too. We have had more than a couple of our members here go OVER 200mph in this event!

I did the Silver State Classis last September. Ran the 160 mph average class with an unlimited tech
limit. Bill and I did the Nevada Open Road Challenge last May (run by the same people on the same
road) in the 150 mph avg class. This year Bill and I plan to run the Bonneville 100 in June run by MKM
out of Wendover Nevada, then I want to run the Silver State again in September. By the way I was in
the Gearz episode, they shot that in 2008 at the NORC. I was wearing a yellow NorCAL928 shirt carrying
lots of cameras at the car show...

The race is in Fort Stockton. http://www.bborr.com/
We probably will be restricted on speed because it is our first time at the event. I have asked for exemption and am presenting our experience and results, but I am not holding my breath. We may have to run 168 or 180 which would be a shame for traveling all that way. I will keep everyone posted.

That is the one! Thanks guys I knew you would help me on this. I was think Cheryl, but didn't want to say something and get it wrong!
Ft. Stockton is barely in Texas! LOL! Roger, you know Chicago is closer to you than Ft. Stockton (ok, Chicago is closer to you than El Paso, but I bet Ft. Stockton isn't much closer than Chicago!)
Tim, just saw the newest member of your family comment... Man, you just can't GET enough HP can you bro'! That has to be a BEAST there!
