Malcolm, Unfortunately, the designers of PET decided that 1280 x 1024 was the required resolution - no more or no less - aka 5:4 aspect ratio, most new laptops have the 16:9 format - as in HD - as they are designed more for the video/facebook / myspace/ viewer that the techy!, if your laptop has a 1366x768 this is 'unusual' ratio. Most new laptops have 2 seperate and distinct video ports, so one is set to the default of the base device - as in yours, and a second video port that can run whatever res you like.

The 1366x768 is the highest and recommended resoltion for this laptop. Its a new Toshiba L450 and yes its a 16:9 format.
there is an external port for a second screen but that wouild mean tied to a desk which is not my preference............like the laptop on the deck to much

I'm very interested in having the PET7 if there's more/better info, content, functionality. Mystery 'regular Rlister', please PM abd let me know what I need to do or where the program is available. TIA!
