Default Possible New Product Offering - Silicone Coolant Hoses

There are companies that can fabricate coolant hoses in reinforced silicone rubber. Just Google to find the manufacturers.

Saw this offering on the 944 board.

Looks like the cost, in quantity, could be less than buying a full set from Porsche.

I am already talking to an Australian company for the silicone hoses.
I see a market for the two large hoses - upper and lower rad hoses - but not for the others as they rarely fail. This is based on sales of the individual hoses.
Interested in feedback.

Funny, I was thinking the opposite, big hoses seem to last a long time and not have too crazy of prices, so I was only going to look for the smaller hoses with ridiculous Porsche prices in Silicone.

OTOH my Mustang still has the Ford Racing products silicone hoses I put on in 91.

I used Ford Racing hoses on my Merkur XR4Ti and they lasted "forever". The underhood temps on that car were sick. A cherry red turbo can dump a lot of heat in a small space in a short amount of time.

Roger I think that the small hoses ONLY get changed when they BLOW and then only one at a time ! The big upper and lower Radiator hoses get changed more often because people SEE THEM and remove them for radiator waterpump changes etc. plus people KNOW that they should be changed....the others are more out of sight and can be harder to change.

So true.

Do people a favor and sell the full set. Then they'll take the time to change them.

I've seen the two large rad hoses in silicone on ebay, wondered if anyone had tried them.
