If you have the time you are welcome to stop by and see what I am doing with the '81. I am near Woodville (don't stop there, lol) about 45 miles south of Fresno off the 99. If you want will give directions. Drive safe as there is bound to be many on the road.

I hear there's a good chance of snow over the grapevine this week, so I'll probably take the coast route tomorrow. But coming back on Monday I might be able to, if you're around.

I just called and it's at a tow yard, FWIW. And they are closed until Monday. I might go if I'm near there.

OK, who bought it?

I went to bird dog it this morning with my nephew, and the manager said someone bought it 20 minutes before I got there. They buyer was gone to get a trailer to put it on, I would have waited to talk to him if I'd known how soon he'd be back.

But this thing's a project. It's an '81, the previous owner did some customizations, car was stolen, apparently some gunfire was involved, and it sat in an evidence yard for 2 years. However it does run, although the manager didn't start it for me.

The customizations were.... interesting. Right where the Euro side markers would be (if it was one, it isn't) he put some fake brake cooling ducts, the paint job was ok but very poorly masked, interior was a bit torn up. The most interesting thing was the seats, black with yellow insets, "928" stitched on the headrest. Nice work.

I tried running the vin through 928codes.com but it didn't deliver a model year for some reason.

The windows and driver side door were shot. Literally. Both passenger side and rear quarter windows were blown out or had bullet holes in them, and hole in the door looked like it came from a large caliber weapon. I wouldn't have wanted to be the driver (although I didn't notice any blood stains).

But overall the body was pretty straight, and apparently it runs good. Might end up being a good project. The manager said the buyer was from Newport.

Maybe it belonged to Tony Montana.

I stand corrected.

Manny was way undervalued.

Yeah, just should have stayed away from Tony's sister. Those things get complicated

Question Bonnie and Clyde car

I bought the car and towed it to Orange County to put back together. It does run and the interior, though filed with broken glass, is all redone - but just placed in there. The first problem is that the yard said it wouldn't start with the key so they hot wired it. The electrical part of the ignition switch and all the wires are just hanging there. Anyone know of a post describing how it should all go back together?

Congrats! Sorry I missed you. Did the yard manager tell you I'd stopped by?

You're not far from 928 International. That will help you a lot. They are running 1/2 price on used stuff through the end of the year. Go get some glass, to start out with

What part of OC? I'm in the City of Orange.

Too late for 928Intl.
928 International is having a ½ off sale on all used parts in stock. All purchases must be made between Dec1 and Dec 24th
