Default Brake test fitting..

Rear caliper test fit, and Front caliper test fit.. Just as the car is up on the lift.. I took some pics.... It's in for some surgical procedures....

The rear caliper will be pretty much in the same location, and the fronts will have to be moved outwards radially as the rotor I wish to use is quite bigger than the stock one pictured... Front caliper will also be colour matched to thge rear..

Richard,
I looked over your posts. Your SC intake is quite a project. IC packaging is a concern for my design as well. I would really like to close the hood on the entire assembly. I am curious about your choice of heat exchangers from a cost/benefit standpoint. I guess it would be a matter of crunching the surface area numbers.

You would have to define both cost, and also benefit..

From a surface area perspective, each fin is 0.2mm thick, spaced 0.3mm apart, and is 3.0-4.5mm tall on a 39.5mm diameter core that is 392mm long. There are also two central sets of tubes for coolant that conduct heat away from the fins at different rates of transfer. There are 6 cores total in my setup.. It is a bit of calculating, but you could get there if you wanted with some crunching..

Anyway, Laminova did all this stuff in their engineering, and manufacture, and the data on heat rejection/transfer is readily available on their data sheets. Each of the 392mm cores is good to cool 200HP of airflow at 90+ % efficiency with less than 1 psi pressure drop across the core at 1 bar.....

The setup I am making fits under the hood of my car without cutting the hood open.. It is 8.25 inches tall from the heads, and if I have to, I can always use solid type mounts for insurance..

The heat exchanger cores are not inexpensive, at $200 each from Laminova (Unless you find them on Ebay from an incomplete project etc. etc. however, if they have the slightest imperfection, they could leak on the water side, or not seal on the air side, or both..). In addition you have to machine the pieces correctly, if not, water could leak into your engine and if too much, it could hydro lock...

Anyway, I have a preference for the Laminova cores, and am going to build the setup mostly as seen in the pics posted.. There will be some minor tweaks, but it will pretty much look like the picture..

It's not only about surface area, there is thermal storage capacity, coolant quantiy, heat rejection from the AWIC radiator, and flow rate of the AWIC pump to consider among several other things...

Mainly it's about how much power (heat) you will be making, then sizing accordingly....

Default Winter work

I plan to put in motor mounts, a Constantine Clamp and do my Wally list of PM on the electrical.
Also check all of the rubber lines while under the car.
Cruise around the garage with my creeper with my kids pushing me.

Drive it on nice days when the roads are dry and there is no wet salt.

Fix the crack in the dash with the repair guy in town

Do some donuts in the snow when a nice dry powder has fallen and the crews haven't been out yet. I'll post those pics for sure.

Hmmm.

my plans are mundane compared to some.

big box of parts from Roger. shocks, MM, oil pan gasket, stearing boots, fuel lines, windshield washer pump/hoses, and find/fix AC leak this year. next year a few more items to get all old hoses/stuff replaced to enable years of motoring pleasure.
