Thats a good price, considering its about what I paid here in Oz, inside the trade. Mine is very similar to Ed's version, and is a tight fit on the alternator shroud - no clip or tie required. See here https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...placement.html

Default Mine arrived this week

I read the install threads and installed a aluminum bracket to hold the assembly. By mounting it between the corner of the front spoiler and the inner spoiler mount. I bleieve this add additional stability as well.

Old U section still behind the liner:

Yup, he's still go them, and it works perfect too. He's been over here this morning so he will be back at the office in a few.

I have plenty - not on my web site as about 98% of what we sell is not on my web site.
Unfotunately the price went up to $24.75 - sorry.

FWIW, I've had this hose on my car for a couple years.
I had an oil cooler leak dripping oil all over the hose. When I replaced the oil cooler hoses, the oil just wiped off the alt. hose. VERY durable product!

So I am almost positive given the times I have been in the wheel well and under the car that I don't have this cooler line. I also don't see it depicted in the parts manual I have. Does the 79MY use the exact configuration (2 piece with the coupler and sensor I assume) as shown in this thread or another configuration?

Jim,

I think your '79 does use this same hose and the same temperature sensor. They attach to the plastic inner fender panel. Of the 3 928's I have recently owned, none of them have had the hose or the sensor. The sensor is NLA, I am working on another idea to replace the original sensor, may offer it to others if it works out.....I will email you details on the hose and the like..

Thanks Jim.

What does the sensor do?

As I understand the system, at least in my '84, the sensor tells the heating and cooling system what the outside temp is....if there is no sensor at all the system "thinks" it is very cold out and will turn on the heater and open the heater vents. Your '79 may not have the automatic temprature controls, so you may not need a sensor? There will be a 2 conductor wire behind the driver side headlamp assembly if you had a sensor.....

The one we sell is perfectly adequate for the job and modern material.
Why look for something else. Available in stock here in Texas for $29.95. Why mess with International shipping, customs and long wait time.
Better if you start a new thread please.
