Talking

Congrats, you did 100% better than I did on try number one at buying a 928. VERY SMART trailering the car home. I am doing that today, Friday, with my 2nd try at a 928.
On posting pictures. I found it was a less trouble with the MAC than the PC.
Hope you have many fun miles with the car.

Thumbs up Welcome

Welcome to the Shark Tank....!! Time to get the car off the ground and check that real long list of defered maintenance .. Andrew Olsen has a great checklist of stuff to look for...use the search key along the top bar of the page and put in his name to access the DIY Inspection listing. Also there are a great many posts about DIY for brakes, intake and the 32 v motor. You will also need the PET which is the total parts CD for every Porsche ever made. Also, talk to Dave and Jeanie at 928 Specialists in N.C...their website is invaluable and we expect to see you at Sharks in the Mountains in early June...you can convoy up with Blown 87 from ATL....Good Luck....use a smaller mg camera to load up pics...I just bought a smaller digital camera..4 mp..my other was too big...Kevin

+1 above, You bought it sight unseen? You don't say price, so you must be feeling a little jammed. Anyway, good luck.

If you are doing the T-belt, John Kelly Manual (he sells it on ebay) is very useful and as well as the PorkenTensioner documentation threads (liftbars.com). Many recommend replacing those leaking tensioners )not b/c of the leaking!) with Ken's Audi tensioner. I was glad I did.

Thanks to everyone, the T-belt and water pump were done about 2000 miles ago ( per the PO ). Belt looks new so thats all I have to go on. The interior is great, the dash has a few cracks ( suprised I know ), the rear deck carpet is a little faded but not bad. Lots of stuff I want to do but the motor is first. I only paid $2500.00 for it, ran a Carfax it came back clean the body is good no dents or rust. The hood was dropped ( struts bad I think ) and bent it, the PO put a straight one on which is presently black. After new struts, latch kit, lock and adjustment it works great. The Cam Covers and intake are being powder coated now and should be ready first of the week. Replacing all vaccum and vent hoses. The heater core hoses have been cut and plugged going to do a pressure test to see if it leaks, hope not. Thanks for any help as we go.

Don't forget the fuel lines while you're in there. Roger has a nice kit in stock for a pittance.
