Been diving it for quite some time, and has been running just fine. Left it outside last night, and when I tried to start it this morning it would not turn over. Battery is fine, has enough gas- it just won't go. Nothing got messed with- but I have yet to take a decent look under the hood. It sounds like it's not getting enough gas, but it is at the 2/4 mark. What should I be looking at here?

If your not getting fuel I would check the fuel pump relay. Before I replaced the relay in my '82 it would sometimes not function properly when it was cold. Hope this helps.

If you go to David Robert's site "928 specialists", http://www.928gt.com/ , you can print a copy of the relay chart and locations for your car.

On the passenger side pull the mat out from in front of the seat. After the mat is pulled back you should see an wooden door. Opening this gives you access to the fuses and relays. Here is the relay chart. https://www.928gt.com/default1.htm On left hand side click on "fuse and relays" select year. If your car is an '82 the fuel pump relay will be XVII

Okay I found the relay. What should I do from here? Order a new one, and see if it fixes the problem?

You state that it would have problems when it was cold outside. The night I left it out was the first night of actual real cold weather. Next morning it just wouldn't turn over.

Hi Jakkg,

Go to the top of the forum and do a search for NO START or WONT START. You will see about 500 posts come up with all sorts of no start information. It will tell you how to jump the fuel pump relay, green ignition wire and all sorts of info. My 83 928S is having a no start problem at this time. I am waiting on a new fuel pump relay and a new green Ignition wire. You will just have to test components. Let me tell you, there is a lot of crap to test. My 928 starts for a few seconds, then dies. I am getting spark and fuel. But in your case, you need to check spark and fuel since it wont run at all. These cars are always having starting problems. Also, dont keep cranking it until the battery dies. If she does not start in 3 attempts, then check around for the problem. Good Luck.

Was it wet outside last night? Or was there a heavy dew where you are?

Try spraying the 14 pin connector (next to the hot post in the engine bay) with WD40 (Water Displacer).

edit: Think you have a green wire too? spray both ends of that as well

Well I got it running. Took the Fuel Pump Relay out, and connected it again about 10 minutes later. She fired up just perfect. Certainly keeping her in the nice warm garage here on.

Glad it's running now. Those relays can be very stubborn at times.

Get a couple of spare relays and throw in the glove box. It's only a matter of time before you need one
