I write this with a torn heart. I found my son in his room yesterday about 2:00 PM not breathing and no pulse. My brother and I preformed CPR and mouth to mouth until the ambulance arrived almost 20 minuets later. At 1:05 AM I held his hand for the last time as his heart beat faded to none.
I spoke to him last night and when I went to bed I told him "I love ya". He always replies "love ya too." I had no idea that was the last time I would hear his voice and see his smile.
I know some of you met Devon and a couple knew him well. This is truly the worst pain I have ever experienced. I only hope I will see him again.

Dean - ugh, this news hits hard and is so sad. I know your son has been battling a grave illness for some time.
My greatest condolences come from a shared experience. It is hard to type these words without reliving my loss.
May your grief someday be overcome with rich warm memories.
Most sincerely my family and I share your loss and offer our heart sent condolences.
Feel free to pm anytime.

Dean,
I am sorry to hear of your loss. I had the initial personal contact with you when PorKen and I sent the liftbars to you a year ago. I feel that I have gotten to know you better through your posts on Rennlist. I recollect you and your son shared a common love for 928s. I have 3 young sons myself. Even though they are still toddlers at this time, I look forward to the day when we can work on our cars together in the same way which you and your son are able to share a common passion.
Once again, I am sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you.

Dean,
I'm so sorry,
My son is eighteen and we have that exact same exchange every single night, either in person or by text if he is at college. Reading your post brought tears to my eyes. I can't imagine how you feel. If you ever just want just talk, please give me a call 24/7. 765-730-2301.
Hang on, there are others who value you and still need you.

I have two sons, both now in their thirties, and I cannot say how many nights I have spent worrying about the pain you are going through. My heart is out to you completely, and all I can say is that I hope you and your family can take comfort from each other - I think family is really one of the most important things in life, and why a loss like yours is both unbearable and bearable. We on the list will all be thinking of you, I am sure.
