Default CORVETTE PCV OIL CATCH CAN

Can any member guide me in the installation of an oil catch can- I wanted to reduce the oil in the intake. Elite engineering in Colorado made a catch can with screen for the v8 Corvette and i was thinking to retrofit to the 1990s4. Could it be done?

Your best bet is to go to one of our sponsors Dave Roberst of 928 Specialists and buy his Shark vent. It's a proven product that many here have installed. It comes complete with all hoses and brackets and can be installed in a couple of hours with no problems.

Why try to re-invent the wheel?

Default pcv can

I like the kit from 928gt-Specialist,but the kit price is my main draw back. At 500+ i dont think i could do it,since there are members on this list are capable of fabricating one for half. I owned a Corvette before and i came across the Corvette kit for 170.00 and its doable for me. Any members here can chimed in for helping me fitting the kit would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Why waste your money on a catch can when you can buy a real Oil separator for $145 that will separate the air and oil and allow you to return the oil back to the crankcase (instead of having to empty a can all the time). It is also designed by one of the foremost compainies in the world that knows a thing or two about oil filtration.

Besides all the stuff in the "Kit" from Elite will basically be useless for a 928 application, you will still have to fabricate all of the fittings, mounts etc to use the Elite "Kit" on your 928.

BUT, IF you want Corvette stuff, Lingenfelter also has a great product, but it carries a Corvette price tag .

Default pcv catch can

Hello i have the web installation guide. www.eliteengineeringusa.com -DR- I wish i coul afford your kit since i bought new suspension steel (A arms) -CARLS -and 1200 worth of oil cooler hoses and parts to chase the damn oil light. I have to spend less on this since its not a priority. I figured 170 for the kit and some silicon hoses 30.00 more and plastic couplings.

Red Shark,

No worries, this is part of why I have the illustrations on the website so others can use them to help make their on Crankcase Ventilation System. No matter where you get one I feel it is important for our engines and am happy to help in any way.

I would still recommend getting the ProVent for $145 and then using my illustrations as a guide to aid in making your own system will save you money on the project. I don't see anything in the kit from Elite that will help you with a Porsche V8 venting system as it has nothing in common with a Chevy V8 in that respect.

Go to www.sharkvent.com and look at the illustrations for your year model, it should give you some ideas of how to do yours.

Here's a thread for you:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...early-32v.html

I've got about $40 into mine. Yes, I've gotta open a needle valve occasionally. It sticks out below the fender just in front of the driver's door.

One thing I don't like is draining the condensate back into the oil. On the street all I get is water. At the track it has looked like fresh oil. I tossed it anyways. Perhaps that separator is just that good.

Anyways... Tons of ideas for this if you search.
