Thanks guys for the feedback.. I thought the V12 MIGHT have had something to do with it..
I'll have to play with my exhaust one the thing rusts out.. or may be even just tool around with that ol' "tuned redneck" sound. hehehe

I agree, and would add that timing has an impact as well. When I bought my current GT, even with the RMB it just didn't sound as good as the red one you and I once owned. The Hammer showed my new ride had faulty knock sensors and Hall sender, each of which would retard the timing. After doing an intake refresh and attending to these items, the glorious music was restored. Much crisper sounding now!

yeah but when i let off the throttle with an Xpipe and a RMB with the fuel cut off disabled i get the most wonderful gurgling and poping sound. You can just hear the Phwupp phwup....phwup bup..bop.
I really need to record it....it really sounds great and intimidating!
on a stock S4 the fuel is shut of under deaccleration but with a Sharkutner you can disable it. Worth the price right there
there are a few DBS's around ehre that i have heard. Sounds wonderful. Then you hear the BMW M5 with a tuned exhuast!!

Me? I just remove the mufflers
My 81 has a tiny borla straight through after 85/86 manifolds and no CAT. My 79 is MSDS headers with a straight 3" out the back.
Whoops, forgot to post the video:

John which flowmaster did you use? Any pics of the exhaust?

You can get the same popping on the 80s 16 valve cars by moving the idle switch out of the way.

I have to agree. It sounds very one-dimensional. All 6 cylinder cars sound like that to me, including the 911's.

Hi Herman - Unfortunately, I do not know as we never drove around with the Hammer hooked up. All I know is we were getting fault codes for the knock sensors and Hall sender when hooked up in Sean's garage. Given the default safety settings when these items fail, I would expect the knock counts to have been few, if any. Certainly thottle response and overall power, as well as the exhaust note, were noticeably improved afterwards.

That or the sound of a fart being blown in a sewer pipe.

Ahhhh....

You haven't heard my GT3 with the Sharkwerks center-muffler bypass; sounds very angry, especially from 5K to redline.

My '91 GT with X-pipe and RMB has a different sound that I really like too.
