Both Tony's and Brian's look good.
In my opinion, that texture red surface works the best with exposed metal or silver details and very clean engine bay. Personally, I think one should avoid black details on that dark and shadowy red surface.

I used the 550 Maranello as inspiration and it has some black on the thing. It cant be all red or all silver
If i kept the car longer i would have painted the 3 lines along the top of the flappy area, and put silver lettering on the red cam covers and black or red on the top of the intake on the "PORSCHE 32V" area, that would dress it up nicely.
The next time i dress up an 928 engine bay i would go much further with altering the routing of some things to eliminate a bit of the clutter in there. I would also likely come up with a cover for all the crap on the sides of the engine, to cover up the coils and the lines running here and there and make another cover for the front over the radiator and that void between the front of the rad and the hood latch. This is common place on cars now, that would focus your attention on the engine and the engine alone.

Andy-
A quick Google around shows that you can either do wrinkle red by rattle can or by powdercoating. If you want the VC's and intake PC'ed in wrinkle red, I'd be happy to ferry them over to OC Plating if it'll save Greg a trip- they're, uh, used to me bringing stuff there now...

Low on the **** giving department? ;-)
I was thinking aluminum fuel rails. Something like this, minus the red-blue anodized ricer stuff:
In my opinion, the dimpled red parts look better if there's something silver in between. It's not that black looks bad, there just has to be enough light and silver/aluminum near the red for contrast. One thing that might further improve the red dimpled color scheme is changing the intake tubes to silver color solid pipes. But in any case, these are just personal preferences. And I do like your red camcovers, silver intake scheme.

In any case, now I am giving you the opportunity to rip my color scheme. My car will have Kuhn's system (below), with the following mods:
- All blue parts will be black (fittings, silicon)
- The black air box will have more subtle silver turbo text on black background
- Intake and cam covers will be silver without any detailing on the text, just plain silver
- The car is triple black otherwise
