Anyone seen them actually installed on a 928?

There is a shop here in OKC that does the lambo door kit on all kinds of cars.

I would be afraid it would dump all the junk out of my door pocket.

I think Strosek has done it before.

I was seriously considering installing the "butterfly" doors on my widebody. When I got down to the nuts and bolts of it I found that it wasn't very practical. The hinges and hardware are all steel. They want you to weld it into the door as well as the inner front fender area. Since our doors are aluminum there would be no practical way to weld it. You would need to reproduce the part in aluminum to allow welding or figure out a way to securely fasten it without welding. After finding this out I passed on the door kit. I still really like the look but I doubt I will do it now.

They look good, but from what I've heard, do not last very long. The hinges and supports fail and you are SOL. IMHO, today they look a little 80's and early 90-ish. Some would even say that they're somewhat "ghetto" or it's close equivilant: "ricer". Strosek had some nice mods, in particular the nosepiece, and it keeps the integrity of the design of the 928 intact. If parking is a problem, then drive a beater because otherwise some yahoo MF in a jacked-up 4x4 SUV will slam his door into you and then you'll really be screwed. Just sayin'

If you have a problem getting out, you are way too close to the minivan next to you.

The full-size doors on the 928 actually is an advantage because it automatically prevents you doing a stupid parking, meaning, one that is so close to a potentially ignorant persons car that it is within reach of junkmobile-doors.

A better and more appropriate solution would be to make sliding doors compulsory on all minvan/suv/and likes.

I like the doors on the black Strosek but like someone else said their more of a butterfly door than a lambo door. I'm from the 70's and 80's so Lambo's are still the bee's knees

Love the full swing one. Those that look like DeLorean's one.

If I had cash... sigh...
