The best way to find them! His loss, your gain.

You've got a showpiece there, for sure.

Covers are like wet-look powder coat of some kind.

Wow, great eye, Imre.
I think if Constantine offered a template to cut and replace that piece it would be a whole lot easier to install his rock-solid superclamp. Am thinking right now of making this cut on my 85, but want to put a replacement strut in its place. Maybe its not nec. Seems like a smart cut to make in a lot of ways.

Anyway, great car.

Imre,
I dont see the picture which show this. But I have done this before in the past myself.

Ole,
It is looking really nice. And if you dont like the ride, I would be looking at the shocks and spring setup as that will make a HUGE difference. I would be doing that BEFORE other tires.

Are 90 Japan cars different than USA and ROW cars??? Because the dash and steering wheel looks like a 1989 model.

Nice find and a good job cleaning up.

There are many differences for 928s that were made for the Japanese market. All that I've seen in Canada have been LH drive, with some different electrical options for headlights and cats as well as some diffs in what you'd expect with model year changes such as air bags etc. The front fenders are ROW with the markers behind the wheel.

Looks like Velvet Red to me. At first I thought it was too dark to be Velvet but most of your pictures are taken in low light so I'm guessing that's why. Velvet Red or not, it's a beautiful car. Nice job.

3mm is common and seems to be an equiulibrium point that is established pretty quickly. You will find it comes back rather quickly. For years I never found more the 3mm and I just released it every 3-6 months. Do a baseline crank endplay check next time.

Mine is 0.008in (0.2mm; limit 0.4) and has not changed in all the years I've been checking. I have recently installed a Porken PKlamp and have not observed any movement in 7000 miles.

Wing is not fiberglass just painted.
Colin... I did the old push on the corner shock test and had a couple extra bounces so it will be on the list of repairs. Thanks.
Bill... I documented the flex plate measurments to get a baseline. This winter I will check for movement and changes.
couple more pics

Great job, looks very nice!

I'd put money on Velvet Red Metallic. You say the sticker in the door jamb is faded, but you can also check the build sticker under the carpet in the rear hatch area. The paint code is listed there as well. As others have mentioned, Velvet is 81L.

Just went to double check sticker, it is there but faded out completly. I can read 928 part number below a black border on a silver sticker. There is an additional paper sticker with a number and a bar code next to the main sticker. Nothing under the rear carpet unfortunatly.

Nice looking car. Reminds me of what mine looked like when I got it and then did some detailing.
