The point of this exercise wasn't just to go custom. It was to have a low cost set of at least OEM quality. I've always felt that the OEM 928 wires are over priced. I also could use some in the very near future so I'm trying to work this out now.

Spark plug wires with the distributor ends already attached on one end.
On the other, the crimped on fitting to screw into the spark plug ends you already haven.
You simply unscrew the spark plug end off your old wire and screw onto the new wires. Since the spark plug ends rarely fail, why buy new ones?

The wire part has threaded screw connectors crimped to the ends. Those screw into the "L" parts that attach to the caps and plugs.
This is how you can sell the wires and not the ends, or not one end.

Here is a visual to Glen's post. You simply screw these off your wires to attach to the new ones:

It's usually a good idea to spray some kind of lube between the wire and the boot since 15+ years under the hood they are stuck together quite well.

I was quoting for the early 16v set of wires for Jason's 81 car.
Wires only for the 87 to 95 cars are $119 in red or black.
Beru wires with the correct fittings to take your exicting ends.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?
