Default AZ 928's - Meet the Holbert 928... and Dwayne too!

Just in case any Arizona 928 owners have not heard (or anyone interested close by), we are getting together on the east side of Phoenix on Saturday, Nov. 7th between 3:30 and 4:00 pm to see Dwayne and the Holbert land speed record breaking car as they make their way across the country.

The Holbert car is heading back east to it's new home for restoration back to it's former record breaking glory. We'll have a chance to see the "before" version, with the "after" version set for sometime in 2012 IIRC. We will be making sure Dwayne gets "fueled up" with some good Mexican food when he stops in Phoenix and goes on his way 'cross country. We're meeting at:

Macayos
12637 S. 48th Street
Phoenix, AZ 85044
(480) 598-5101

This is on the corner of 48th Street & Warner, less than 1/2 mile off of I-10 freeway. AZ 928 group hasn't gotten together in a while, so this is a great opportunity to hang out, see a cool bit of 928 history... and see Dwayne too!

Are we talking about the original twisted up hulk of a car I saw laying behind 928Intl. The one with no front end and those beautiful none closing doors?

If it was the one that was red and white and bent all over...

...then that's the one. As others have noted, much worse wrecked cars have been brought back to life. I think it's great that Ed is willing to give it a go.

My boys may come with me - they enjoyed Sharktoberfest and are interested in seeing this car once again...

That's great to hear Alan. I'm sure you'll be bringing Diane's GTS... although, she may have to wrestle the boys for it...

I think we decided..at least me.. that Dwayne deserves to be elevated by his peers for meritorious and selfless service to Sharkdom and should be deferred to as........... 'SIR DWAYNE' in the future.............
