adjustable progressive tuner WTF!
Has anyone used this thing http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...item48380d8b53 'adjustable progressive tuner'?
Does it work?
Will it work on an '83 928S K-Jetronic system?
Will it do what they say it will?
Is this just not a good idea to use?
wauld i need to mod the Air intake?
Help and advice needed as im very close to getting the ebay 'buy it now' bug
Still waiting on my manual to arive in the post should be here soon i hope. i need to ASAP so i can get into anatomy of the shark!
Thanks to all that have been helping me along the way and continue to do so for so many in need of tech advice.

I have no idea what an IAT sensor is, but I'm pretty sure we don't have one, unless they mean Incredible Air Temp.
In short, this is snake oil. It does not work. Save your money - or send it to me.

You are much better off applying " Bat ear wax" to the intake... This will fool the ECU into seeing greater airflow and will boost BS to much higher levels.
You can "buy it now" and receive it later maybe by sending me some not all of your money!

The idea was that you add a variable resistor to the IAT (incoming air sensor) this fools the ecu into thinking that it must richen the mixture due to colder air.
Which works BUT..
Of course the O2 sensor detects the over rich condition and leans the fuel mixture back out.
A variable resistor that does not work for a few $$ mmmm no thanks!

hahah ok its garbage! i thought so!
Im just looking for sumthing to give me a lil more throttle output from go and not be to noticable under the hood... cops have a habbit of looking inside the engine bay of a fast noisy car esp here in OZ...dam them
Any suggestions on how to achieve better throttle response from go?
,,,i noticed sumthing about an e-ram system for the Air intake , says its an electronic SC...is it? will it do the job seems pretty descreet under the hood...just the way i like it

Rule #1 - Make sure everything is working 100% as the factory intended
- Throttle opening all the way
- WOT switch working (doesn't apply to CIS?)
- Timing set correctly or maybe advanced a little
- Cap / Rotor / Wires in good shape
- Proper spark plugs (see cheap copper)
- etc...

engine is getting a clean then mobil 1 5-50 supersyn is going in also new filters spark plugs maybe leads i have .7 on at the momment i think .9 will fit and putting redline heavy shockproof in transaxle/gearbox(prob flush that also first) and do some maint. on the boots and bearings...also where ever attention is needed! im going to have the clutch plates adjusted correctly as pointed out here on several posts!
...wanna have the full feel of the 928's potential.
The engine and TA and has no leaks seems to be a tight mech car...so fare! i wauld like to put it on a dyno tune after all is done...but i want that lil extra throttle hit at each gear on every hit.
...and thanks for the fast responce i saved a few $$ and gained good advice CHEERS

just remembered somthing will changing or adding a third party idle air control valve (IACV) and Adjustable High Performance Fuel Pressure Regulator also modding the air intake with ram pod system do anything good for the car...like more power faster accel...ive got a 3" SS exhaust sports system and harder springs (suspension)
sorry for being such a **** ive been looking through the forums but i kinda get overloaded with too much different info and i get side tracked with other topics that are interesting then i forget what i was suching for
Any other mods that are good to add to the OB to give em the mod performance they deserve?
THANKS guys as always
BTW does anyone know if OZ cars(oz approoved/imported) 928's have the O2 sensor fitted?
......hhhhhmmmmm Gtaebr you got the 'bat ear wax' in stock.....mit try it how much you selling it for ...LMFAO

It will make a huge difference as others have said to make sure that everything is as the factory intended.
That said, dont bother to do anything with the charge tubes. This is a waste of time and will probably cost you power The AFPR will not work on your car. This is only for EFI cars, as you have K-Jet you have a WUR. There is a programmable one that will help you to get your AFR better and this will result in more power for sure.
If you want quick cheap to install power NOS. If you want power on demand then get a SC setup. Neither one will look good to cops though.
And as to the O2 sensor, pop under the car and look. Noone will be able to tell you more than that.

Unfortunately you have missed the Halloween bat ear wax season..... Maybe next year!
Remember the 928 is a high speed cruiser not a traffic light screamer.
That said getting everything up to spec and all the electrical contacts cleaned makes a world of difference. My 86.5 is no slouch... Of course I am planning to "Porkenize" this winter!http://www.liftbars.com

That's pretty funny. The factory purposely puts an intake air temperature sensor into the intake (or air box on some cars) to sense how hot the air in the intake is so it can set ignition timing accordingly. So someone comes up with a brilliant idea to defeat this system. This same idea would work with the coolant temp sensor as well. The million dollar question is, how far do you turn the dial before you exceed the factory safety margin for ignition timing?
