Part out or fix?

The fact of the matter is as another lister pointed out its not a popular color. I looked for almost a year for this color cause I wanted the cassirot with the burgundy/linen interior (not the all burgundy). I'm leaning more towards parting. Time is not a problem I hang out in the garage all the time. I'll probably just sell the big stuff to gain as much back as possible than just send the rest to a recycler and get metal scrap for her.

Thanks. It currently has 996 tt wheels on it. Shes a driver so I don't want to do much on the exterior just wanted to do the inside and get the driveline into shape.

And don't listen to James about the color. He has an opinion for everything.
There are many folks out there that like it.

Gotta be a shark owner with wrenching experience near you. Get a second opinion before parting out. Could be a very easy fix. Parting out is a pain.
What would you want for the whole car as is?

Can't afford to sell the car as is. I have over $2500 in parts sitting on the car as it. She would get parted before that..

I'm with Doc, don't part it out. One of us Cassirot lovers will step up to the plate if that's what it takes!
Could you give us a little more info on the disappearence of the piece into the intake. What part? Have you actually run the car alot? Does the engine make a rattle or certian noise? etc. etc.

The butterfly valve that the MAF connects to. There is a small chunk of metal missing out of it. This piece was there before I put everything back together and when diagnosing I noticed this small chunk missing.
Engine makes no weird noises at all sounds like a car running on 7 cylinders. No I have not ran the car a lot only during testing purposes for about 30-45 seconds at a time to see if I could get that other cylinder to fire. I don't plan on running it on 7 cylinders at all I would rather salvage what I can from this engine if I decide to part out.

$400 for the block and one piston. Here are some pics of the block: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...condition.html

All kidding aside, that's a great looking car. I assume you do your own work on it and have a garage?
Buy a beater to drive, and take your time to get that good looking 928 back in shape.

Oh yea I do ALL my own work. Its more fun that way. Challenging to work on some times but do-able. The succuessful completion of the torque tube change was my biggest job yet and was very rewarding to do until the engine let go. lol
