Unlike America where you lure the birds to the ground and shoot them when they land we Brits prefer to give them a sporting chance.
We shoot geese flighting between the roost and their feeding grounds.
Mostly at 100 yards and higher.
The big guns - 1 gauge and 2 gauge - were used back at the turn of the last century for shooting large flocks of ducks for the market.
In 1900 the USA banned the use of guns larger than 10 gauge for shooting migratory birds.

Yes, that was a HELLUVA tech session! I actually got quite a bit of work done on the GTS. I am not sure why I had such serious looks on my face while holding the guns. Next time though, I'm bringing mine! We sounded like a bunch of little girls giggling when somebody was shooting one of the big guns. I was up under the GTS when somebody fired without warning and when I jumped, I think my head bounced off about six things! The cursing from that set everybody off laughing again!
A good time was had by all who attended.

A big thank you to Brad W for the use of his shop and beer and ammo.
Thank you to Darien Nunn for the previous thread I found where he and Tony fixed their 2-3 transmission flare, and also for his hands-on expertise on Saturday. Also thanks for showing the rest of how shooting should be done. Sheesh!
SeanR- Thanks for the additional technical knowledge added to the mix. (next time don't tease us by bringing a firearm for which you have no ammo)

You have nothing to worry about, none of us can lift that thing properly (except John and Roger) and Roger is only using one eye.
