well thats at least an appropriate price, Ive seen some LA CL ads for similar cars for $5000
Good call on the lemons car, likely all but the shell and body are toast. Its not like your going to want an interior in a race car is there?

If I didn't just buy the 1978, I would be all over this one.
Again, anyone local who would like me to store it for them for awhile, just ask.

I think that was the ebay car that didn't sell for $135 I was thinking about buying. I've gotten too busy to work on the ones I already have, so I'm passing for now.

hmmm... Northridge is only about 15 minutes up the road. If the guy gets back to me with the address I'll drive by today at lunch and take a look (brought the '79 to work today, seems like fate talking to me - to check it out for other rennlisters, at least).

So I looked at this car today. It barely qualifies as a parts car. Interior is trashed, also mostly stripped. The car's probably been in a front-end crash (fenders/hood/headlights don't line up) and the hood has bondo covering about 1/4 of its surface. To top it off, it looks like there was a fire behind the dash - the motor is covered with soot, the foam parts under the hood are baked and cracked. Wiring harness is all pulled out (and was probably melted). I'd say it is probably worth less than the cost of hauling it away.
On the plus side, the place next door said it had "the best pot stickers and noodles in LA" and I think they were right. Made fresh on site and very, very tasty.

Thanks for looking Chris. We can cross that one off the list.
Please be kind enough to share the name of the noodle place.

"Mandarin Deli" on Reseda Blvd in Northridge. Yes, the juxtaposition of "Mandarin" and "Deli" also caught me off guard, but it was really quite good.
I should mention that the car had a "friend" in the back too (the car is at a body repair shop in their back lot). The other 928 looked, frankly, almost as bad, but at the same time it also looked like it was the subject of someone's restoration attempt (paint stripped, some primer and body work, the dash was actually in decent shape). Made me think the first car was brought in for parts (who knows, maybe some even made it over) but the other car looked like it had a long way to go, too.
