The angle of the ball joint carrier in the apex of the a-arm is identical to the factory arm.

Here is a thread (on another forum) where someone reports how they felt after 1200 kms....

caster is determined by the lower balljoint. The angle of the joint on the top is different.

And carl has now answered the question.

These pics might help. You can see that the ball joint carrier is welded at an
angle at the apex of the a-arm.

The angle of the ball joint has no effect whatsoever on kingpin inclination. So long as the centre of rotation of the ball joint is in the same place (fore and aft location and radius from the arm bushings) relative to the chassis as the oem A arm, the KPI remains unaltered.

Previous comments regarding the range of rotation of the ball joint are of course valid.

Not wishing to drop too far into semantics but in reality our 928s don't have true camber or caster adjustment they have KPI adjustment -

When you adjust the "camber" eccentric you are actually adjusting KPI. A true camber adjustment would change the angle of the wheel without changing the KPI - in effect it would have to bend the spindle up or down relative to the hub carrier.

The same is true of the caster adjustment. the adjustment we have changes the longitudinal kpi (moves the lower pivot of the Kingpin fore and aft) Whereas
to adjust caster only would requre cutting the spindle off and welding it back on in a different fore and aft position.

While the effect of the above adjustments results in changing the caster and camber it also changes the lateral and longitudinal KPI.
