squirter block
I've been reading that some of the early production 87 S4's are equiped with squirter blocks. The last 4 numbers on my 87 are 2302. Is this one of them and does it make a big differance? Thanks, Joe

There's a pic in the new Brian Long 'Porsche 928' book which shows what he describes as a very early S4 motor installed in a car. It has the early rib-less S4 intake, and it has some very convoluted oil breather hoses. But what's really striking is that it has the insulated foam air intake tubes that eventually show up on the GTS, 6 years later. Weird.

Those were used in Swiss models around that time already to lower engine noise. Some MY Swiss cars also had better sealed air filter housing.

My '87 is #0083 (will check engine number today) and has a the strange breather hoses (I think) but has conventional intake tubes and air filter housing. Haven't looked at the exhaust, and can't remember how it drives/shifts.

Here is a good thread I had subscribed to on the 'squirter blocks': https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...squirters.html
My '87 is # 224 with 'non ribbed' intake.
