I will be in Clarksville next week if anyone wants me to check this car out for them, but with a Hemi?

The placement of the spark plug looks like an old Hemi but is a pentroof 4 valve.....but the new hemi has twin sparkplugs see how easy it can be confusing !

Hmm, 928 wont run, owner admits to starting it on either, wants 4500 for it, what could go wrong at a price like that?

In case nobody gets my sarcasm, that car is worth more in parts than as a whole, both totals together may not add up to that asking price.

sounds like it hurt so bad he was afraid to drive it...."The valve train was rebuilt , new timing belt and water pump. new plugs. have new wires that go with car. Injectors were also serviced. I drove the car home from the mechanics shop. parked it in the garage and haven't driven it in about 2 years. "

That "valve train" rebuild needs to be defined by a copy of the paperwork.

Starting it on ether is just evil......... some people really don't know any better. I have to believe the work he had done before he put it up cost several thousand dollars...... wonder why he never drove it after that...... Not like he lives in snow country.

PPI could confirm the car is worth every bit of his asking price........or not.

"Hemi", just means hemispherical head, many engines are "Hemis", Dodge and Chrysler just use the term for marketing.

the 85-86 US are 32 valves and all 32 valves are interference engines.

I'd be headed to Clarksville early on this one. He presumeably owes nothing and doesn't fully understand them and wants this gone. Alternately, he has some understanding and is dumbing-down the ad to try to appeal to the old car audience down there, which would understand hemi as being a potentially desireable V8. Interesting. Go early. Get this one for 2K and attack it like you did the 83.

I spoke with him today and here is the scoop. The TB broke a couple of years ago and his friend worked on it for sometime when he had time. All new valves,TB water pump, wires, plugs. Said he got the car at a good price and them bam sunk over 3K in the motor. Said the clear coat is starting to fade but every thing works, except it will not pick up fuel. I am going Sunday to check it out and will take a "new fuse" with me. Thanks for the input guys.

Mark, Carrie taking care of the MM ok?

I planned on coming over this week to see your shark but work just got way out of hand.

Looks like a normal US pre 85 220 hp motor.
