I tend to forget how much many sellers are willing to drop their asking price to make a sale. This one was listed at $5k, buying it for $2k is something to take note of.

I agree. What sold me on the car was the interior. Aside from that it started right up and sounded goud. The paint was shot but since I planned on repainting anyway how bad it looked didn't really matter I figured worst case scenerio I could get 2500 for her if I didn't want to keep her.

I am in love with the old gal. I think this forum is awesome and with out it I know I would have never have bought this car and she would be rotting in the Fl sun.

I also am somewhat new to this forum and the people have been positive and very informative. I also own a 79'. My interior isn't that nice but for the most part she runs. I made a little book of all the things i am going to do with mine once i get a chance to start repairing her. If you have any questions about anything my advice would be to do a search of the forum. This will turn up all kinds of information. What is nice is people have posted pictures of what they have done along with great notes. I wish you the best of luck!

That's how I started, bought the 78' for 3k in 1997.I figured that for that price a guy could bail out and not get hurt if he did not like it. Fix it up a little to make it safe and have some fun.

What a machine! I worked on the car all day. It was hot here but worth the sweat and grease.

Replaced all the belts. The alternator had fallen off as I had replaced the battery yesterday thinking that when it died that was the cause. I had to jump her to get her home. Went to get a alternator today and my wife told me she saw a chewed up belt. Didn't even look before.......no wonder she was driving so badly.

Replaced the belts, cut off the rear muffler and welded on some tips and she sounded like a beast!

What a difference, runs awesome, sounds awesome and I am slowly learning how to shift her with the old syncros.

The exhaust now has what looks like long tube headers into a y pipe into a cat, into duals, into a muffler(dual in dual out) and duals out the back.As I stated the car had the original muffler that looks like a box removed so she had 2 mufflers before today. I couldn't stop smiling. She is so muxh fun and now I see why they call them a Shark. The best highway car I have ever driven, hands down.

What a deal, 2k unbelivable! Had a couple with my buddy tonight to celebrate. I would go to the car and start her up just to hear hear rumble!

I will be calling Tampa 928 so he can give me a better opinion as my guy works only on german cars but has seen very few 928's

No gas smell, gauge looked normal etc. She just decided to be nice.

I brought the car over to Tampa 928's house yesterday. Does he have a nice setup! A couple 928's, his brother's was on the lift and I pulled up in my OB.

Cleaned some grounds and the checked it out and gave her a clean bill of health. Actually all I need to get is a short throw shifter and a couple other piecesto rebuild the shifter and a cap and rotor. I also need a new window switch that I will be ordering this week.

What was really cool beside all of the wonderful hospitality was that Fabian should up in his 84 and then another gentleman should up in a 82 w/ a GTS body! So we had six there all haning out! That was really neat.

Looking forward to getting these things repaired and will be looking for a tranny 85/86 and then paint...and then booooost!

I am still unable to upload pic's

Stephen
