I wanted this car bad. Wouldv'e bought it sight unseen, basically.

Already have 2 928s, none of which the wife can drive (refuses to learn to operate a clutch).

Instead, I spent the same cash on an Audi A3. More practical, I guess. It's a really nice car.

Seriously folks, I almost just bought this without telling her. Oh! Who put that in my driveway?

I tend to take everything a seller has to say with a grain of salt. I'm curious about what may change in the title history, what state it could be registered in etc. If he sold it in Calif, he may only think its sold.

OTOH $14k is in the real world a fairly trivial amount to pay for something unusual that you want.

VIN: WP0ZZZ92ZFS841821
Records: 15 records found in the CARFAX

AutoCheck found 26 record for VIN: WP0ZZZ92ZFS841821

And really thats the truth, you can buy maybe 2-3 NEW cars for that price. If you really want it why not buy it.

Agreed. I paid $12K for my 5spd '84S in February, and I'm sure most people on the board would think that was nuts. It was top dollar for a 16V car, but it came with $20K in receipts over the past 3 years and the previous owner took care of EVERYTHING possible, and EVERY aspect of the car has been no surprises. Its been a daily driver and for almost a year driven at 3 track days and I've only had to change the oil. When you think about the money pit these cars can be, its really a bargain to pay pennies on the dollar for a perfectly sorted car.

Sounds nice but the ad needs more pics and more info. Especially about that ceramic brake upgrade

But even with those small pics, the 928 is such a unique, great looking car. A steal at these prices.

I didn't get to see the car refered to in this thread, add was long gone before I noticed. This car has been for sale for..maybe 6 months? I believe its the twin dizzy euro version you are discussing. Non running etc this car might be worth a lowball offer if a few things are verified first. If I had the cash I'd go have a look. Hope someone saves it.

I had to read the e-bay listing twice - at first I took it as a non-running car, but upon reading it more closely, I don't think that is the case. A few line breaks may have made it more clear:

Positive Points:
1) Excellent clean body with no rust;
2) Complete overhauled transmission;
3) Strong Engine;

In need of repair:
1) Windshield had a line;
2) Dash Board needs to be redone as wells as left side of driver's seat;
3) Airconditioned needs needs a belt and to be connected and check , currently not running;
4) Power steering rack is leaking, probably needs to be replace;
5) Sunroof doesn't open, needs new cables.

I take it as "Strong Engine" and "AC not running"

Correct me if anyone knows otherwise. No affiliation nor personal interest....

The LA car was worth every penny. If you are a serious car enthusiast, and I had to do it over again, I would definatetly go this route.

Hell, crappy 79 911s are going for $20K!!! why can't ours! (ok, i know, but I'm just sayin'!
