If there is anyone thats a stickler for price, its me.

And as for "deals", the OP should know (or whoever is looking for the car rather) that the deals are on the auto's. The 5 speeds are typically 30-50% more in terms of value.

Matt-

In all seriousness, if he gets to where he's got some candidates and needs another pair of eyes, or ever needs help on maintenance (should he pull the trigger), you know where I live.

Thanks, Rob. I've let him know that the SoCal support group is strong and that he'd probably be welcome at a wrenching event or a coffee and cars. Heck, when I'm out for Christmas, maybe he and I can make a clandestine run to check some cars out, or join in a tech session.

He's aware of the 5-speed premium. I've given him some background, including informing him that the 86.5 5-speeds with no rub strips are the best of the best.

Matt, is he also aware of the costs if he gets bad one? :-) If your friend wants he can contact me and come by to look at it, no pressure. Hell, he can put on one of those Champagne shifters and boots and drive it manually and no one would ever know. :-)

Oh, there'll be plenty of tech sessioning to do in December. I'm currently focused on working Jen up into a lather about going to Hawaii again. With the kids. Solo.

Ron

That script that i sent you was HTML formatted thats why it looks the way it is. I was hesitant to learn it, but honestly its pretty easy, ebay has some info on it on the site and i mainly used paragraphs and bold areas.

Sorry that didnt work out

and as for ebay, if you do buy it now best offer you just gotta keep putting it up. I just sold my GTI and it was relisted about 5-6 times and i never got the offers i was expecting till the last time it went round, when i got 3 different offers of what i had expected, so you gotta keep it up there and keep trying.

I think if you got the seat covers done that should really help! I think the foam was showing on the originals which i honestly hadnt ever seen on a 928 so thats probably a good decision on your part

But stick with ebay, and if your number is reasonable, stick to it! From what i remember your car with new seats should get $12,000 if not $11,000

That would be nice but I expect it will be considerably less than that. I did figure it out, it just was to much work for my lazy *** so I skipped it. :-) Thanks for sending it to me though.
