Default Boxster activity on Rennlist!!

I posted a request on the Boxster Forum of Rennlist 2 weeks ago. Since then, there have only been 24 new subject postings on that Forum. It seems the Boxster community is signficantly LESS involved in communicating about their cars than the 928 community is! I'd guess there are probably at least as many Boxsters in the US/World as there are 928's.

There must be an average of 24 new topic postings on the 928 Forum every day. The 928 community IS special, and broadly involved. Thankfully!!

The boxster forum is probably the least active. I have a friend who sold his 993 and purchased a boxster S. Still regrets his decision to this day. His biggest regret is how little info they have about their cars and getting help on subjects is near to impossible.

I've heard that www.planetporsche.net is a really active Boxter and Cayman forum. Try there.

While there might be 24 new topics per day in the 928 forum, the I'd say that only a few of them actually contain 928 useful content. As example, this thread.

I looks like the 928 forum has the most online at anytime. I could be wrong , I bounce from the 993 board to the 928 daily.

The Boxter doesnt have enough time on the road to have things break, besides the serpentine belt and coolant leaks, and some switches.
Besides that most of the car wasnt meant to be worked on, evidenced by the hidden engine compartment.
Lastly the Boxter isnt the top of the line model, its the stepchild, the beat down, the lowest cost model.
My guess is that most owners wont be looking for an engine/ or trying to fix problems, but a gas station, to fill up the tank

By September 2003, 100,000 Boxsters were produced.
In 2006 that number soared to 200,000

This is a big reason why an early Boxster is worth about the same as a well sorted 16V 928

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

Porsche rolls out more cars in one year (total production) than the entire production run of 928's.

Boxster S is a great car, great fun to drive. very little maintenance. I recommend one if you are secure with your masculinity.

It is a very capable car but I find it boring to drive and way too much body flex, the cayman is superior in every way probably the best platform built by Porsche to build upon but again it doesn't thrill unless it is pushed to the limits.

I am not saying they are bad cars just not thrilling.

Same was said about the 944 too, now look at that forum. I have a feeling that the Boxter forum will increase in traffic now that you can pick them up for less than $10k and a lot of the questions will be like we get here.
