Hi people:
what is the difference between a oil pressure sender from a 84 euro and a 91 euro. pet says they have different numbers and they are called different things but what is the actual difference?? different psi?? why cant you use later one in a older car??
electronics are not my strong point, and im trying to learn

the difference may be what the sender sends to the instrument.
Since the 91 has a different instrument system it may also require a different sender.
There may also be wire connection differences.
This is my thought anyway

The early ones are two wire and the later three wire.
Different connectors as well.

The early type controls a voltmeter set to read oil pressure. The later type is input to a computer.
I don't think that there is any possibility of interchanging them.

ok now had time to investigate further
the sender that was on the car 84 euro s2 was 928 606 203 02 which i can't even find on pet the newer one i have on another engine is 928 606 203 01 which is the one that should be on the car but was on a s4 engine. i dont know the age of the car but the senders were altered in 1988 onwards so i am presuming that it is an earlier s4 as the newer senders had three poles as was said
thanks for all of your input
