Default R&R Plenum/intake couplers & Vac lines

Hey Folks,

Still rough idle at cold start. So from what I've been reading - the R&R on the small and large diam couplers on my 85 auto shouldn't really be a big hassle. I am concerned about replacing the vacuum lines, however. Don't want to miss any. I've got the WSM on CD and have looked at the vacuum line routing. Kinda clear as mud.

I've purchased a silicone kit that should work and silicone plenum/intake couplers as well. Is there a magic document out there someone can recommend that gives a step by step vac line R&R...or just replace everything that isn't holding liquid.

Too, my washer fluid isn't working to my satisfaction. My WSM CD is missing this R&R. Can someone post it or help. Can't hear a pump running when the washer fluid lever is accuated. Figured I dig into that too as I'll be replacing the lines.

Replacing the O2 sensor as well...torque spec??

Thanks guys!!

Have you replaced the idle control valve? (It may be rebuildable = Mrmerlin.)

No...not yet. Saw that one could wd-40 or LPS it. Passenger side under the air filter? Glad you reminded me - might as well dig it out while I've got stuff out of the way. The closest I've come to dealing with this issue is the Temp II sensor replacement.

If the ICV is original it is unlikely to be fixed by WD-40.

The vacuum lines are not all that hard to follow - assuming that they are all there (in my case they were not). I am sure there are several people that have vacuum diagrams if you find you need clarification.

In my case I relaced all the vacuum lines in the engine compartment, tried to repair and then replaced the ICV, but still have a poor idle stability condition on initial cold start. It does get much better fairly soon and there are still things on my list to check but just haven't had the time.

Let us know how the project progresses.

Yeah, sounds like I'll be replacing the ICV vs. a repair attempt, if my vacuum r&r and O2 sensor doesn't fix the problem. Good grief I've got a lot to learn. I'll just use the diagram in the WSM.
