Default Flooded car???

@#!#!@#!!&&&

My son, who I love dearly, had to go to the dentist today and tried to take my car from the school parking lot. It tried to start and then I think he flooded it trying to start it and ran down the battery. I can jump it. (I know) but I'm assuming letting it set for an hour or two "might" help the flooded issue. I'm hoping I don't have to have it trailered home and pull the plugs.

Any similar experiences?

Thanks
Rod

How do you flood a 928?

Should start without touching the accelerator, but even so that only opens the throttle (no carb things that squirt in gas).

I wouldnt be so sure that it is flooded.

When I saw the title I was thinking U-boat flooded.

Try engaging WOT while cranking as that should enter a flood clear threshold.

If you think the car is flooded, try to start it with the fuel pump fuse removed. That is a 100% sure way to diagnose flooding. If it really is flooded, it should eventually start and run for a couple of seconds with the fuel pump off. This worked fine for me when my tempII sensor decided it was -50 deg C outside during summer in Atlanta... not good when you have 30lb injectors.

Why do I feel old when I'm still in my 30's?

I have seen this happen. Just a matter of getting the plugs wet.

Parking lot attendant in Chicago did this to the 90 you bought from me, Rod. I had to pull the plugs and dry them out before it would start.

You can just pull the fuel injection relay and with a charged battery, crank it over, 5-10sec at a time with a 1 min waiting period and do this 3 times. Then put the FI relay back in and the car should fire up.

It was the black 87.. When I had an opportunity to check it, it had no fuel pressure, but still the smell of gas.????? I checked the relay - swapped it out, checked all of the fuses, jumpered the fuel pump, no run.

Swapped out the LH - one rebuilt for another and it started right up. It was the LH. Darn it.....

Thanks for all your suggests all, I could never get along without rennlist...

Rod.

Its nice that you had a spare LH, and from your post you have too many cars to figure out what one was flooded. . Glad things are working again

When you have 5 928's, you pretty much have a spare everything.

Where's that jealousy smiley? :-)
