Great story and awesome results - I don't know anything about Open Road Racing but I REALLY like the idea of going very fast for a long distance (and ticket delete) - AWESOME! I Must find out more about ORR! Congratulations to both of you on a successful event!!

Congratulations Cheryl and Tim!! I suspect that Cheryl may be the fastest women in ORR....or will be soon!!!
She tops Susan's 204/205's runs and I suspect next year you guys might pop the Top Gun record...hmmm....231, 231, 231....
Congratulations....and as usual, my pleasure!
Be safe, be fast!

As I was reading this story to Debra, she was clapping and cheering for the girl!!!
Congratulations to the 200+ lady, to the quick-calculating navigator, and to "The (928) Beast."
I navigated for Jim Dawson again this year in his 1989 928 S4. We came in 5th out of 15 in the 125mph class at 1.048 seconds off target, slightly worst than last year's 1.039 seconds off. This is tough competition, as last year we trophied in 3rd place out of 12 entries!
I'm hoping to have my car prepped and ready for the rookie 110mph class in the Nevada Open Road Challenge in May, 2010...
....many, many miles per hour and years from 200....

I'll say this again, over 209 MPH on a road, just AMAZING!!
Great story and nice insight into the emotions you go through at the start of the event. Many really just don't understand what you go through psychologically and to keep those emotions in check and get the job done in this high style is a testament to your preperation, resolve and respect for each other.
Congratulations and thank you both for flying the 928 banner very high!
By the way, anywhere to find out what modifications you've made to your 928 to achieve this goal?
Cheers,

Thanks for all of your kind comments. As you can probably tell I am very proud of Cheryl and her abilities in the car.
For everyones information, MKM will be running the Bonneville 100 in Wendover, Nevada in June of next year. It would sure be nice to have a large contingent of 928's show up. There are a lot of us that would be willing to help everyone get their cars ready. I have some neck collars, gloves and shoes that people could use for the race. The accommodations are very nice in Wendover and it sits right on Hwy 80 on the Nevada, Utah border. Think about it!

2: ONLY CAR OVER 200
3: FASTEST WOMAN AT EVENT
4: Next "fastest" car didn't break 190mph....
Very impressive
