hi
is there a tweek to make the kickdown on an 86.5 a bit less vague , its starting to annoy me a little , the process seems to be a bit impredictable
regards

Hi Andre, please tells us a bit more about what your looking for "make the kickdown on an 86.5 a bit less vague", this post /statement is a bit vague.
And yes there are mods for the Auto's kick down, one to make it always start out in first (valve body) and another much easer to extend the switch from the floor to a push button by the shifter.
Did you try an advanced search on this fourm for Auto kickdown?
Yes, more information please. Controlling the "feeling" or action the kickdown, can be accomplished in a number of ways. If the vacuum line is leaking to the tranny, it will cause harsh shifts. The tranny cable can also be adjusted to eliminate shifting "irregularities"... Make sure all the slack is out. It's a trial and error proceedure...
I have an 86.5 and have it adjusted so that when I floor the pedal there is a very definite "Stop" at the kickdown switch. Push harder and "click" kickdown engages it is not vague in any way.
Mine also starts out in first from a stop I think all 86.5's do isnt it only S4's that start in 2nd?
