And they are about to undergo a beautiful transformation at the hands of our own Paul Champagne.

Engine looks to be in great cosmetic condition. Stickers look good, plating looks good, paint looks good.......Still shocked that someone hasn't snagged it.

Consider it snagged. Any car shippers from Boston to Kansas?

I heard there is something screwy with the title work... something about 28K miles... might be a little administrative hassle, but I'm sure worth it. I hope it works out for you.

By the way, I've used DAS with good sucess (but only once).

CONGRATS ROD!

Nice Score.

Intercity is a very good shipping company. FedEx has been heavily advertising their auto shipping but I don't know anyone who has used them. Horseless Carriage, Pilot Transport are a couple others that come recommended. I know Intercity had a $1500 coast to coast deal so I"m sure their price will be less for Boston to Kansas.

No, no... never use DAS. If you search you will find horror stories about folks who have used them. They are a truck broker and the car would most likely be picked up by a roll back and taken to an impound lot i.e., junk yard (usually not in the best parts of town) until a truck going in the general direction of the final delivery shows up and takes the car (most likely on an open car hauler chained down by the rear axles...) to another impound lot and the scenario repeats itself until the car gets to its final destination. The car will be most likely filthy when it arrives, you probably won't be able to get any information about where it is while enroute nor what route its taking or how long it will be b/f you see the car. Folks have report some and all of the example above...... Run away from them!

Good recommendations. The Intercity rate is only west to east I think and it's out there to fill trucks for LONG runs and is restricted to certain sized cars (the 928 does meet the size requirement). A rate for part of the distance will not be proportionate to it's distance compared to coast to coast rate.

Chuck that is exactly what happened to me when I used DAS to ship my Honda. I didn't care too much that it was filthy when it arrived but I did care that it took nearly 2.5 weeks to get across country. I wouldn't let them touch a nice 928.

Used Intercity (awesome company) twice.

6 yrs ago Charlotte to Boston $900.00
1 1/2 yrs ago Cali to Boston $1100.00

Both cars arrived in pristine shape and communication along the trip here was great. Knew where it was every step along the way

Highly recommend.

Maybe I just got lucky with DAS, but none of that stuff happened to me. I requested a covered transport and could track my vehicle via GPS day by day, hour by hour, or really minute by minute in real time.

They picked up my car on Tuesday in Portland Oregon, had it in Chicago by Friday, sat for the weekend and showed up in Indy on Monday. All that for $1200… I was happy, but a big YMMV!

Like I said, I only used them once.

Kurt I've seen very inconsistent posts about DAS. Seems some have a very good experience and others have had nightmares. If I was shipping something of any real value like a nice Porsche I wouldn't use them. If I didn't need the car to arrive at a specific time, didn't care about a scratch or filth and I was trying to save money then DAS would be an ok option since they are cheaper.

As you said YMMV.

Intercity is consistently highly rated and worth the extra $ for the peace of mind.
