If one wanted the site level the best way to go about it would be to use a thicker lexan and cut 80% of one of the panels out. Then weld a slightly thicker ring to it. Then drill and tap some holes and attach a piece of lexan with sealent. But yes it will be an extra failure point.

But a great looking product.

If you can supply one with the cap/filler hole and sensor, but the pieces to weld on. I could finish the assembly for Pasa's RHD car.

Modifications at fabrication stage required to make a RHD fit.

Assuming the holes for the filler and sensor are drilled before welding it would only be neccessary to invert the top Octagon plate thus handing the position of the holes before welding it to the sidewalls then weld on the bosses for filler and sensor.

Not sure about the location of the feed hose spigot at the base of the tank - in Carls race model pic (below) it looks like the LHD base is the same as the RHD base - not handed.

The rest of the tank configuration is the same as LHD.

Carl
VERY nice.....good points on the cooling system pressure as well.....since many radiator caps are failing with time and loosing their pressure...which makes the whole system less effective and more 928's run hot or overheat.....

Would be easy to tap a sight tube / sight glass setup on this tank. These are used on boats quite a bit. I'm sure one could configure fittings to handle the max pressue of the cap.

Nice idea. I can see why Carl would be reluctant to introduce failure points, especially when doing so might easily top the $200 mark. A motivated buyer could add their own sight gauge, anything from welding one on to going the shadetree route and teeing into existing fittings.

Any chance to make one for a right hand drive car?
I could do that, but I need somebody to send me a RHD reservoir to model after. It can be cracked and old, just as long as it has all its "parts"

Hi Carl - I can send you the cracked RHD reservoir pictured in my earlier post - (Post No 32) or simpler I could just take the measurements of the fittings. but I am reasonably certain that the only differences are as I described - Pressure cap fitting swaps sides and bottom outlet fitting swaps sides - ie flip over the top and bottom plates about the fore and aft axis before welding them to the wall of the tank.

All the other fittings are on centreline of the tank.

A RHD reservoir is now on it's way to Carl so he can assess the differences and work out how easy/hard it will be to make RHD versions.

Hi Carl

I would buy a RHD one instantly if you do redesign for it....and a 20lb cap...

All the best Brett
