I need some suggestions for a new bra for the 928. The sole purpose of this bra will be for long distance drives and to get to car shows. It will be removed immediately upon arrival at the car show and or in the garage at home.
I want the best fitting bra which offers the best front end coverage.
Is Colgan still one of the best or are there better ones out there?

Clear bra seems to work very well and you wont have any scratches when you take off the traditional clip on bra.
Make sure the installer is using 3M paint protectant film.
The clip on bra can possibly damage the paint by abrasion or by holding water and spotting or lifting the paint

Ted thank you for the feedback on the OE Bra. Can you take some close up pictures around the headlights, foglights and near the fenderwall? Does the bra make it difficult to close the hood and or does any part of it rub against the paint when closing the hood? Any issues at 928 highway speeds? ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I've been debating about a clear bra for a while and the original plan was to have one installed. I'm still trying to find a good local company which can custom make it for a 928 since pre-cut pieces do not exist.
I do have two other issues with the clear bra. I've never loved the way they look and cleaning at their edges is a pain. I'm also not certain if concours will allow a clear bra without point deduction.
I plan on using painters tape at the edges of the vinyl type bra where it clips on the car to avoid any scratches. Since I won't be driving in rain moisture shouldn't be an issue either.
Anyone using the Colgan have any feedback?

if you get a clear bra just use a soft bristled tooth brush on the edges then a wipe with a microfiber towel. Invariably adding anything that can move on the surface of the paint will scratch it, No matter what you try to do.
I have added lots of clear bra to my car and you have to look to see it

Afshin, I have a Colgan Bra for my 928, haven't used it of late, but it fits well and never marked the car. It has the moldable (sp?) hooks covered in felt to grab the wheel wheel openings, never had an issue there either.
I think I had to raise the hood bumpers slightly so it would easily clear the bottom cover when the hood closed.
Looks just like the previous post pix where it covers past the lights and is 2 pc.

Where did you have the clear bra installed other than on the front?
I also see a mudflap or are my eyes deceiving me?

I have a clear bra on my car and the guys did a great job. Premiere Mobile. They go up and down CA. I realize it doesn't help you much...
But I would definitely consider one.

Here are pics of my GTS with clear bra Avery film. It is nearly impossible to see most of the time. Most people have no idea it is there until I point it out. I have the bumper completely covered along with mid way up the hood and other vital areas. Dark colors aren't so bad the only color I don't recommend it on is white because they do yellow a little over time.
I know of a great installer if you need one.

Cobalt thats interesting info, thanks.
I have put the 3M film on all of my machines but they all have had an original paint finish, never any problems with peeling paint but then again i have never tried to remove the film either, i would say if you have original paint then you wont have any problems. That said I have put the film along the rocker panels I took a 6in wide strip and went from the mud flap to the rear wheel opening, it fits perfect on an S4 BTW.
I also added some the the areas of where the rear wheels would kick up stones on the rear bumper.
I also added pieces to the mirrors, the nose the hood where it rubs on the front rubber seal, the cam covers, and a few other places to prevent the paint from being scuffed, Also i did the fog lamps and the head lights

As far as any paint damage, I have had none and no issues with it flapping or anything up to 130 mph. The hood closes a bit tighter and the lever is a bit tougher to pull when the bra is on, but nothing crazy.
